Description
Sentosa Golf Club – The New Tanjong Course
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Singapore’s southern coastline, the New Tanjong Course at Sentosa Golf Club is a modern masterpiece of golf architecture and tropical elegance. As one of the two iconic courses at Sentosa, the New Tanjong offers an exceptional golfing experience that blends world-class playability, luxurious amenities, and sweeping views of the Singapore Strait.
Originally established in 1974, Sentosa Golf Club is widely regarded as one of Asia’s most prestigious golfing destinations. Following a complete redesign, the New Tanjong Course reopened in 2016 with a bold, contemporary layout by world-renowned golf course architect Andrew Johnston. Today, it stands as a true jewel in Singapore’s golfing crown.
Course Layout & Design
The New Tanjong Course is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course that stretches over 6,700 metres (7,374 yards) from the back tees. Inspired by classic sandbelt courses, the layout features strategic bunkering, wide fairways, and challenging green complexes—rewarding both precision and creativity.
Unlike the Serapong Course, which is more punishing off the tee, the New Tanjong encourages risk-reward play. Its open design and gently undulating fairways provide scoring opportunities—but don’t be fooled. Dramatic bunkers, tiered greens, and water hazards require accuracy and smart course management.
Signature holes include:
- Hole 4 – A scenic par-4 with panoramic ocean views and a demanding tee shot.
- Hole 16 – A memorable par-3 with a deep bunker guarding a sloped green.
- Hole 18 – A dramatic risk-reward par-5 finish framed by bunkers and a stunning backdrop.

April 2, 2025 at 10:29 pmThe New Tanjong Course at Sentosa Golf Club is a beautifully reimagined parkland-style layout that blends championship-level design with tropical serenity. From its wide fairways and bold bunkering to panoramic ocean views, the course is both playable and visually stunning.
We found the layout to be particularly enjoyable for strategic players who favor creativity over power. While more forgiving off the tee than its sister course, the Serapong, the Tanjong still demands precise approach shots and thoughtful short game around its rolling greens.
Signature holes like the par-4 4th and risk-reward 18th are standouts, but it’s the combination of setting, conditioning, and hospitality that makes the New Tanjong an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a traveling golfer or a local looking for a refined round, this course is among Singapore’s finest.
